Data manipulation? or not.
Recently, prestigious NEJM expressed their concerns about two of those articles from Dr. Jon Sudbø at Radiumhospitalet in Oslo, Norway. Concerns have been forwarded to the director of that institution. An investigation was expected.
This, along with other incidents on Lancet and Science, has severely hurt the reputation of science! The integrity of science should always be kept as our highest priority, and no excuse would be granted to hurt it. While the indivisuals are blamed, I also believe there may be a system problem of our current scientific community. Do we chase for the data too urgently? Why can not we do science like 20 years ago, with the drive to discover Veritas rather than to publish?
It was a pity.
